The Studio
How it started and how it's going

If we go way back, it started with my hand me down Barbie dolls. I had gotten quite a collection of clothes for them as well as a little trailer with some decor items. I never ‘played’ with the dolls, however I played with them often. See, my preferred game was to organise all the clothes, piled by colour and style, using some building blocks to separate different ‘rooms’ for the dolls. Never did the dolls speak a word, and when I was done I would leave it just to come back the next day and do it all over again, in a different manner.
The same phenomenon happened later in the video game The Sims which my neighbours had on their computer, and which was later gifted to me by my dear granda’. Rarely did I play out the life simulator game and made my character live life, why do that when you could build houses, and decorate them! I’ve lost count of how many houses I’ve built and decorated, and I still do it…
So, the hint was just quite recently taken by me, and I realised that despite formal training, I could still provide something new and inspiring to the world of interior design. Why stop at toys and games when you can do the exact same things, scaled up to reality!
After taking all the right steps; figuring out the brand, registering my business and setting up the website, we’re all ready to go!
I want to thank my parents for their great artistic talents that were taught and passed down to me. Painting, designing, crafting, aswell as all the materials needed right on hand at home. That knowledge has helped me in the first few projects, and my own studies of disability friendly design has proven usefull. Even if one of the projects had to be re-designing my grandmother's bedroom for her peaceful passing, it just goes to show exactly how important the combined knowledge of beauty and function really is.
I am hopeful for the future of this studio as I dive headfirst into studying antiques, minimalism and health-design, alongside new projects popping in. Thank the stars I actually don’t mind doing some math, filing my taxes and keeping my books. You learn something new about yourself every day, if you just try something new…
